Haikyuu‌ ‌And ‌Kuroko‌ ‌no‌ ‌Basket:‌ ‌Which‌ ‌One?‌ ‌

Haikyuu‌ ‌And ‌Kuroko‌ ‌no‌ ‌Basket:‌ ‌Which‌ ‌One?‌ ‌

Hello everyone, it’s me, and welcomes to the Anime Discussion again!

So I tried to do a single showdown post focusing on two sports anime, but it was difficult to come up with a decent theme to pit them against each other. I wanted to kick off the year with something I’d been meaning to do for a while, which is why I’m writing this article about two really famous sports anime (I have a feeling you would have guessed that without looking at the title).

In today’s showdown, ‘Haikyuu’ and ‘Kuroko no Basket will compete on the subject of ‘Performance in the Sports Genre.’ I’ve always wanted to pit these two famous shows against each other, so today I decided to pit them against each other as if they were competing in a sports anime. Before we go much further, I just want to point out that both of these shows are fantastic, and the result of my article in no way diminishes their quality; it’s just my view. So, now that the stage has been set, let’s get back to work!

HAIKYUU

Haikyuu‌ ‌And ‌Kuroko‌ ‌no‌ ‌Basket:‌ ‌Which‌ ‌One?‌ ‌

Genre: Sports, Comedy, Slice of Life

Ratings: 8.8/10 (IMDb)

8.7/10 (My Anime List)

Pros:

  • When the time comes, the characters are layered and examined in depth separately.
  • It has some of the most incredible OSTs, which blend in well with the atmosphere of the series at the moment.
  • The humorous jabs were regular, accurate, and provided comedic relief in stressful moments, allowing audiences to become more invested in the plot.

Cons:

  • The matches did not all follow the same pattern; some were completed in one episode, while some lasted more than seven.
  • Since the art designs were not the best, it may not appeal to those who are drawn to pretty animations.
  • The female characters were given very little opportunity to make an impact. They were just as useful as the characters who helped Karasuno in the third game.

KUROKO NO BASUKE:

Haikyuu‌ ‌And ‌Kuroko‌ ‌no‌ ‌Basket:‌ ‌Which‌ ‌One?‌ ‌

Genre: Sports, Comedy, Slice of Life

  • Ratings: 8.4/10 (IMDb)
  • 8.4/10 (My Anime List)

Pros:

  • In comparison to the other shows, the female characters were far more significant.
  • The basketball talents shown in this series were often overpowering, but they were often electrifying. Ses scenes will also be enough to give you the chills.
  • The greatest thing about this series is that it can energize you at any point, thanks to the anime’s amazing vitality, which is present almost all of the time.

Cons:

  • I didn’t care for the art, no matter how colorful it was. I know it’s ancient, but the art (particularly the character sketch) didn’t appeal to me.
  • Any other team has one overpowered character that totally eclipses the other members of the team until they are in picture.
  • The matches were so long; I understand that this is a characteristic in any sports anime, but it was so long that if you disliked one match, you would have to miss nearly 8 episodes to watch it.

As a result, Haikyuu wins this debate in my opinion. As I previously said, this is merely my own view, and both of these shows are excellent in their own right, deserving of their current popularity.

With that, this month’s article comes to a close! If you disagree with the results and wish to defend the losing anime, or if you want to give the winning anime more points, please do so in the comments section below! Until next time, I wish you all the best and, as always, thank you for reading!
